Nikawa Lodge

Visit one of the oldest Spiritualist Camps in the world. Help us celebrate 130 years of continuous camp meetings. Now running twelve weeks in June, July, August and September.

The buildings are bright with fresh paint. The rooms at Nickawa Lodge are quaintly finished, insulated and have heat and fans. The meetings rooms have both heat and air-conditioning available making them always comfortable. The size of our Wednesday and Saturday evening Message Circles are now limited to twelve guests each, making them less crowded and of shorter time duration for increased enjoyment of all.

Our camp has always been well known as the place to receive quality mediumship readings from Spirit Loved Ones. Now due to increased traffic and popular demand we have additional mediums available each week for private mediumship readings, spirit message circles, séance circles, table tipping, workshops and classes.

As a healing center, in addition to Spiritualist ‘Spirit Healings’ offered in our church services and anytime as available by healers present, we now have weekly healing practitioners who offer a wide variety of healing modalities which this year include: Sound Healings, Affirmations and Visualization Healing, Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Polarity, Shamanistic, Healings with The Council of Engma, Soul Clearing, Results Therapy, Kinesiology and Body Work, Seichem, Ra-Sheeba, and Angelic Light Energy, Usui Reiki, Lymphatic, Charkra Balance, Breath Work, IET, CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, Somatic Healing, Shiatsu, Tui Na, Medical Qigong Qi Healing, Emei Buddhist Mantra & Remote Healing, Dragon Gate Daoist Medicinal Brush Healing, and ReUnion Facilitation.

We have a Monday evening Healer's Class where you can be inspired and in-tuned by the healer of the week. At the end of the Healers week, Sunday morning, the healer has a workshop where everyone receives and shares the healing activities and vibrations.

As a spiritual educational center we now have Sunday afternoon classes, Tuesday mediumship development class, Saturday morning and afternoon workshops added to the healers' classes total over seventy opportunities for individual learning, delivering many avenues to increase spiritual awareness and personal change. Additionally look for Late Night Phenomena Workshops scattered throughout the season.

Every Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening we have traditional Spiritualist Church Services with hymns, Spirit healing, inspirational talks and messages from the Spirit World.

We invite you to come visit and make Sunday your spiritual social day. Time to laze in the morning by the sea, in the park or on the lodge deck, or take on a morning or afternoon class or workshop... church service later, potluck supper at 5, Séance Circle 6:30-8. Oh what Joy! What a Day!

We are seeking to raise monies to replace the dilapidated flooring and its underpinnings in our chapel. This is a huge project. We have done so much work to our buildings over the last ten years and they are looking so good. The chapel floor is the last great hurdle. If you could donate here it would be like you are right there under the building helping the divas pounding nails for Spirit. The chapel floor is over 100 years old. It was made with logs laid on the ground on the hillside in the grove and boarded over. Some of the logs are half rotted away now, some sections have been upgraded and patched-up over the years and it is amazing that the floor is still as good as it is but it does need to be replaced in its entirety. The Temple Heights Spiritual Camp has been serving the Northport community since 1882 and have held services and classes through the years along the shores of the Penobscot Bay. Temple Heights Spiritualist Church was founded in 1995 to ensure that the spiritual welfare of the community was attended to outside of the camp season.

Camps play a vital role for Spiritualism and Maine has an incredible history for Spiritualism since two other, of the first camps in the United States, were established here. They were Camp Etna and Madison Camp and although Camp Etna is no longer a member of NSAC it is an honor to recognize them as they still conduct camp seasons for Spiritualist gatherings. Our affiliation with NSAC embraces the goals of similar Spiritualist organizations around the world. That goal is the Spiritual and Secular Welfare of Mankind and we encourage you to explore our site and the sites of other Auxiliaries that are referenced in this site.

Temple Heights Spiritual Camp is a hierarchical Auxiliary of the Maine State Spiritualist Association of Churches (MSSAC). MSSAC in turn is a hierarchical Auxiliary of the National Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC) of Lily Dale, New York.

What Does Spiritualism have to Offer?

Spiritualism is not only a Religion that has a tremendous history dating back through eons of time - Modern Spiritualism (considered the New Dispensation of Spirit Communication) dates back to March 31 1848 with the communication by a murdered peddler (Charles B. Rosna) to teenage girls (Fox sister's) in Hydesville, but it also provides opportunities to educate us about a more spiritual life. It provides education in the wonders of Natural Law and the workings of the Spirit Realm. As Spiritualists we DO believe in God (contrary to the beliefs of many regarding us) but we believe in God as a Divine energy (Infinite Intelligence) that is part of all that exists. That we are a representation of God's creation, that God is within us and that the Teaching's of Jesus regarding compassion and Love are paramount. We also believe in personal responsibility for our actions and that we manifest our existence as a result of those actions (see our Declarations of Principles). Beyond this belief we also recognize that after the physical death life continues (Continuity of Life) in the Spirit World and that we have Spirit Guides available to us during this time on Earth if we choose to learn the communication process with Spirit. These Spirit Guides can be relatives or friends and may even come from different backgrounds of culture, religious orientation (Native Americans, Buddhists, Taoists, Greek Philosophers, Ancient Masters) - there are no boundaries to support from the Spirit side of Life except our individual beliefs and mental fears which are of our own creation. They (Spirit) all have one thing in common - to be of service to provide guidance and influence for our betterment. You may say they are our "Angels in Disguise" since they reside in the Spirit Realm. One learns of their presence and how to communicate through meditation, psychic development and then to the next level of mediumship where one is able to be of service to the community as a Medium by identifying Loved Ones in Spirit to affirm that they are ever present and available. more....
